The first match of the final day of the competition was between South Africa and Montenegro. The struggle for the 7th and 8th places was very strong, even though the Montenegrins were the obvious favorites. The South Africans scored more goals in this match than in the previous four put together, nevertheless they lost 10–13.
The semifinal matches of the FINA Men’s Water Polo World Cup 2014 in Almaty finished today and the main news of the day was Kazakhstan’s victory over Montenegro.
Four teams, who will compete further for the medals, have qualified as a result of the quarter finals of the FINA Men’s Water Polo World Cup 2014 in Almaty.
The third day of the FINA Men’s Water Polo World Cup 2014 in Almaty gave the supporters interesting matches and the first surprise. The first match was between Montenegro and South Africa. During this game the South African water polo players managed to score more than one goal for the first time and in each period successfully attacked their opponents’ goal. The Montenegrins conceded four goals, but they themselves scored twelve, the result was 12–4.
